Paper Towns The Beginning

The theme of this book is that friends will stick by your side no matter what. My book belongs in the mystery genre because in this book Margo runs away but leaves clues so her fellow classmates can find her. Some other books that may be in the same genre are The woman in white, and One for the money.  Quinten is your typical high school student who believes him and his friends Radar, and Ben don't belong with the popular crowd. If Quinten was an animal he would be a raccoon. He is always neglected by others. Quinten was madly in love with his neighbor and fellow classmate Margo Roth Spiegelman. Quinten and Margo were close friends before high school but grew apart when Margo started dating a popular jock. Margo plans revenge on her ex-boyfriend after she finds out that he was cheating on her with a so called "friend". Margo asks Quinten for help, and without hesitation he agreed. He thought in his head maybe by helping her she would fall in love with him. They both do a series of pranks and Quinten's love for Margo rises throughout the night. A mystery occurs the next morning, when Quinten finds out Margo went missing. Margo leaves Quinten clues such as riddles, and puzzles leading him a little bit closer to where she is hiding. Quinten drags his nerdy friends along with him for help and start piecing together each clue. Before she went missing she always told Quinten about paper towns. A paper town is a fake town cartographers use to detect copycats. In all the clues that Quinten has found he realized that they all lead to a paper town. When days turned into weeks, Quinten found out where Margo went. Margo went to a Paper town called Algoe, New York. How will Quinten get there? Will Quinten ever find her? In my opinion I think Quinten will never find her. He is going to get close to finding her but then give up and find another girl he can obsess over.

  1. This book seems rather interesting. I feel like I can relate to the theme because my friends have stuck by my side no matter what. I am also curios to what had happened to Margo that made her flee to Paper Town. I also want to know if Quinten will find her.

  2. I feel as if this is a book I would be interested in because it has to do with teen romance. Although I do feel Margo is fishing for attention by "hiding", she has some good friends who are willing to waste their time to look for her. Reading this blog entry makes me wish I had such good friends.

  3. I would love to read this book because I saw the trailer for the movie and it looks really interesting and suspense filled. I think it'd be a different situation if the girl who was hiding was just some regular girl that every one obsesses over but I don't think that's the case here with Quinten. Not only does Quinten seem to be completely in love with her, she's also one of his best friends. I think that deep connection will lead him to the determination and motivation to find her in the end.
